Whisky thief makes off with £12k expression
A discerning robber has broken into a Scotch whisky distillery shop and stolen a bottle reportedly worth £12,000 (about US$15,500) – plus two glasses to drink it with.
Whisky worth up to £14,000 has been stolen from the Tullibardine distillery shopThe burglary took place over the weekend at the Tullibardine Distillery on Blackford, between Perth and Stirling.
In addition to the “rare” expression, the thief made off with another seven bottles, bringing the total value of the haul to £14,000 (about US$18,000).
Police Scotland want to trace a man seen walking along the nearby A9 road with two bags around 21.55 on Saturday.
The man was described as between 25 and 35-years old, of medium build, and dressed in a red top, light coloured shorts and worker boots.
“Anyone who saw this man or anyone who has information that could assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101,” a police spokesperson told The Herald Scotland.
“Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
