The West Midlands-based brand was founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Katherine Jenner, with a commitment to authentic flavours, innovation, and the use of natural ingredients.

The company has been raising investment on the crowdfunding platform Seedrs in order to generate funds to support its continued growth and expansion plans.

This includes escalating production capacity, increasing distribution channels, and launching new products.

Jenner said: “We are delighted to have successfully reached our target in our latest investment round on Seedrs, and are now overfunding.

“The funds raised will enable us to take Burning Barn Rum to the next level, expanding our production capabilities, increasing our reach and launching new products. We are thrilled to have the support of our investors and excited to continue our growth journey.”

The investment round on Seedrs is said to have attracted more than 100 investors, including both institutional and private investors from the UK and overseas.

The company also plans to invest in marketing and brand awareness activities, building on the success of its existing campaigns to increase awareness of the brand among consumers and trade customers.

Burning Barn says it is confident that the funds raised will enable it to achieve its growth ambitions and continue to lead the way in the craft spirits industry.

The brand’s portfolio currently includes Smoked Rum, Spice Rum, Honey & Rum Liqueur, and its 2022 limited edition release, Cider Barrel Finished Apple Rum.

In addition, it offers a range of ready-to-drink beverages, presented in 250ml cans. They comprise Smoked & Ginger, Spiced & Cola, and Honey & Lemonade. All rest at 5% ABV and are available to purchase as a case of 12 for RRP £33 (US$41.17).

In February, El Rayo Tequila closed its US$1 million fundraiser.
