Mahiki to create ‘world’s biggest’ Piña Colada

London-based Polynesian-inspired bar Mahiki is readying to create the “world’s biggest” Piña Colada at a new two-day festival called Spirit of Tiki.

Hosted by Georgi Radev, Mahiki bar manager, in collaboration with world-renowned rum enthusiast Roger Barnes and global rum ambassador Ian Burrell, the event intends to educate people on Tiki Culture.

Spirit of Tiki will be staged upon a large sandy beach, and feature a “village” of bars and rum-inspired BBQ food stalls.

Using 200 bottles of rum, the bar will create what is believed to be the world’s biggest Piña Colada in a huge artificial pineapple, totalling 500 litres.

A total of 22 spirits brands including Bacardi, Mount Gay, and Angostura will host their own individual bars, hosting regular demonstrations and seminars and serving up bespoke cocktails crafted in collaboration with Mahiki’s mixology team.

A range of entertainers from fire breathers and hula girls to acrobats and drummers will make appearances, and guests can also play volleyball, throw a frisbee, or even try their hand at a coconut shy.

There will be competitions, DJs, authentic Caribbean and Hawaiian food, frozen cocktails, and rum-flavoured ice creams, as well as a Tiki stand selling clothing, accessories, and real flower leis.

Entry is £15, and includes a flower lei, a Tiki mug, a goody bag and a token for one free cocktail.

Spirit of Tiki will take place across 14-15 August. For more information visit or to buy tickets visit Drink Up London.
