Thunder Drinks premieres fruity pink gin

UK-based Thunder Drinks has moved into the pink gin category.

Thunder Really Pink Gin gets its vibrant colour from elderberries, raspberries and redcurrants.

It has a backbone of traditional gin botanicals, including juniper, coriander, angelica, sweet liquorice, cassia and orange.

The 37.5% ABV spirit was made at Thames Distillers by master distiller Charles Maxwell, and is available to purchase for £29.98 (US$42) per 700ml bottle at thunderdrinks.co.uk.

Thunder Drinks’ portfolio centres on flavoured spirits, and includes Thunder Toffee & Vodka, Rhubarb-Flavoured Vodka with a Hint of Ginger, and Frejya’s Crema Custard Liqueur.

This year, flavoured gin sales in the UK surpassed £500 million (US$705m) for the first time, with 30m bottles sold.

The flavoured gin subcategory now represents a 40% market share of total gin in both volume and value, according to the Wine and Spirit Trade Association.
