Enotria & Coe acquires Gin Foundry

Spirits supplier Enotria & Coe has acquired Gin Foundry for an undisclosed sum as it endeavours to boost its business to consumer operations.

Enotria & Coe will incorporate Gin Foundry into its operations with immediate effect

Gin Foundry will become part of Enotria & Coe’s operations with immediate effect.

The move by Enotria & Coe resulted from the rapid acceleration of digital and online retail due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has seen e-commerce sales soar.

Gin Foundry’s retail arm, Gin Kiosk, has experienced a 400% spike in sales since lockdown measures were enforced in the UK.

Troy Christensen, CEO of Enotria & Coe, said: “Adding Gin Foundry into the E&C family brings two clear benefits to our existing business.

“First, their experience in editorial, retail and event environments further our direct-to-consumer capacity. The second major benefit is strengthening our spirits insight and education.

“Gin Foundry have demonstrated their ability to successfully educate within the spirits category, we’re delighted to tap into this and enrich Enotria & Coe’s capability to better service our valued trade customers.”

Gin Foundry was established in 2014 by brothers Olivier and Emile Ward. It offers reviews and articles about the category, creates products to help fans learn more about gin, publishes books and host the Junipalooza Gin Festival in London, UK, and Melbourne, Australia.

Gin Kiosk is Gin Foundry’s retail platform with more than 300 gin listings, as well as cocktail ingredients, vermouths and bitters. It receives an average of 800 orders each month.

Oliver Ward, co-founder of Gin Foundry, said: “The spirits landscape has changed dramatically in the past five years, gin in particular, with continuous education around brands key to understanding what’s in the bottle. I’m delighted to further expand how we empower individuals and organisations to find the right offerings for them.”
