Flor de Caña launches 30-year-old rum

Nicaraguan rum Flor de Caña has launched a 30-year-old single barrel bottling exclusively in London department store Harrods, priced at £1,500 (US$1,928).

Only 400 bottles of Flor de Caña V Generaciones will be released

Flor de Caña V Generaciones was unveiled at Morton’s of Mayfair in London yesterday (12 November) by Raul Zeledon, Flor de Caña global ambassador.

The rum has been matured in a single ex-Bourbon barrel, which was filled in 1988. Bottled at 45% ABV, only 400 bottles will be available to purchase.

The bottle design features the signature of the five family generations behind the brand, a cap made from volcanic rock, a certificate of authenticity with a bottle number, and a replica of the 1902 volcano postal stamp of Nicaragua. The bottle is presented in a black leather case with a metallic label.

Raul Zeledon, global brand ambassador at Flor de Caña, said: “V Generaciones is the embodiment of a five-generation family story, a century-old commitment to the craftsmanship of the finest rum on the planet, perfected from generation to generation.

“I’m immensely proud to have unveiled this beautiful spirit in London and hope that everybody who is blessed enough to get their hands on a bottle cherishes it as much as we do here at Flor de Caña.”

Flor de Caña is a Fair Trade certified brand. The company’s distillery runs on 100% renewable energy.
