Black Cow makes key sales appointment

As part of its continued global expansion, Black Cow Pure Milk Vodka has appointed Emma Wykes head of global sales as the brand enters six new markets.

Emma Wykes has been appointed head of global sales at Black Cow Vodka

Wykes has worked in the drinks industry for more than 20 years, and joins Black Cow Vodka from Pontoon Cocktails, where she served as sales director.

Prior to Pontoon, Wykes held the position of managing director at Marblehead Brand Development, part of Quintessential Brands Group. She also helped build the Martin Miller’s Gin brand during her seven years working with the Reformed Spirits Company.

Wykes joined Paul Archard and Jason Barber, the brand founders, and the rest of the team based in Dorset, from 1 May.

“It feels great to be working with such a  great tasting and looking brand, and the impressive team at Black Cow,” she said.

“We have some big plans for the next five years and I look forward to be part of that journey.”

Archard added: “Black Cow’s progress has so far been blessed with amazing bits of serendipity. One of the most significant is the chance introduction to Emma, who I met to ask for some sage advice.

“Everyone you talk to in the business says she is incredibly well thought of and is one of the few people that the more quietly she speaks, the more carefully people listen. I was absolutely thrilled that Emma wanted to work with us.”

Described as the “world’s first” pure milk vodka and produced in Dorset from the milk of grass-grazed cows, Black Cow Vodka will launch in six new markets in 2016, including the US, Hong Kong, Denmark, Spain and Australia.
