ProWein returns to Düsseldorf for its 25th anniversary

Key influencers and stakeholders in the international drinks trade will descend on Düsseldorf, Germany, for the 25th anniversary ProWein event from 17-19 March.

Yesterday (17 March) Klöckner welcomed the global wine and spirits industry with a speech on the importance of the industry and the trade fair.

She said: “ProWein is a special, well established showcase for the industry. My congratulations for 25 successful years go out to the organisers.

“The Düsseldorf exhibition grounds are a global hub for the wine business. What originally started with 321 exhibitors has now expanded this year to almost 7,000 – a remarkable success story.”

Other speakers for the opening event included Anne-Marie Descôtes, France’s ambassador to Germany, and Thomas Geisel, Düsseldorf’s lord mayor and chairman of the supervisory board at Messe Düsseldorf.

English musician Sting, who visited the 2017 show as a wine exhibitor, also starred in a video greeting.
