Langatun Single Malt Whisky from Switzerland has made its UK debutThe Scotland-based firm will initially offer four expressions from the Langatun Distillery, which was reopened in 2007 by Hans Baumberger, grandson of Jakob Baumberger who initially founded the company in the 1860s.
Langatun Old Deer is the distillery’s core expression distilled from unpeated barley and fermented with an English stout yeast. The whisky is then matured for six years in a combination of Sherry and Chardonnay casks.
Langatun Old Bear is distilled from peated barley and matured in Chateauneuf-du-Pape casks for six years.
The brand has now launched in UK retailers including Drinkfinder, Hedonism Wines, Lincoln Whisky Shop, Master of Malt, and Shop4Whisky.
Highfern owns the no-age-statement Angel’s Nectar blended Scotch whisky brand, which has recently released a peated variant.
