Auchentoshan arrives in Oz with new campaign
By Melita KielyScotch whisky Auchentoshan American Oak has officially launched in Australia, supported by a new on-trade competition called ‘Distilled Different’.
Led by Beam Suntory and CCA, the campaign encourages bar teams across the country to create an original cocktail that reflects the team’s personality as well as that of the Auchentoshan expression.
Twelve finalist teams will then be partnered with an Australian photographer as selected by talent agency Art Pharmacy Consulting, who will be responsible for photographing the “personality and essence of each team”.
Each group’s photos and cocktails will be exhibited nationally for media and members of the public to sample, before one team is named Auchentoshan Distilled Different Bar Team of the Year.
The winners and their photographer will receive a trip to Glasgow to learn more about Scotch whisky and the Auchentoshan brand.
Auchentoshan American Oak is a triple-distilled, single malt Scotch whisky matured in American Bourbon casks to deliver aromas of vanilla and coconut with hints of sugared grapefruit and spice on the finish.
“We’re excited to launch such an innovative and involved campaign against the backdrop of Auchentoshan American Oak culture,” said Chiara Molena, Beam Suntory’s brand manager.
“There are many unique ways to enjoy whisky and we’re looking forward to seeing the ‘Distilled Different’ personalities of the bar teams as well as their skilled craftsmanship, come to light through the entries.
“Our partnership with some of Australia’s most exciting up and coming photographers will really bring Auchentoshan to life by capturing the essence of what being ‘Distilled ‘Different’ means to bar teams across Australia.”
