Reward for return of stolen Pappy Van Winkle
A reward of several thousand US dollars is being offered to anyone who can provide information that sees the return of a bottle of a stolen bottle of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon.
A reward is being offered for the return of a stolen bottle of Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23 Year Bourbon
Thieves broke into The Bourbon River Shack in Louisville, Kentucky, some time between 28 March and 3 April – a private venue owned by William Hinkebein, vice president of marketing for American Beverage Marketers.
Six bottles of “high-end” Bourbon were stolen while the venue was closed, including a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 23 Year Bourbon and a large flat screen TV.
The TV was removed from its brackets using a Hawthorne strainer designed by modern mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim.
Hinkebein said: “I am so sad. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I had this bottle of Pappy 23 for my Kentucky Derby guests.
“I might not be able to celebrate Derby this year. I just don’t know what to do.”
In addition to the reward, Hinkebein will also donate several thousands of dollars to a local children’s charity if the stolen property and Bourbon bottles are returned.
Anyone with information should contact the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) on 1-502-574-7762 and quote report number 80-16-028177.
