Savoy’s Beaufort Bar announces new head bartender

The Savoy hotel’s famous Beaufort Bar in London has announced the appointment of new head bartender Kyle Wilkinson.

Kyle Wilkinson will take on the role of head bartender at The Beaufort Bar

Beginning 1 March 2016, Wilkinson will be taking the helm from previous head bartender, Chris Moore at the forefront of the bar’s creative direction.

Having honed his skills at the likes of Brass Monkey and Pollen Street Social, for the last two years Wilkinson has been bar manager at The Blind Pig in Soho.

Under Wilkinson’s supervision the venue was nominated for multiple awards in the industry – notably winning Best Restaurant Bar in 2015 at the Spirited Awards at Tales Of The Cocktail.

Of his new position, Wilkinson said: “The biggest, most challenging and proudest role of my career begins now”

Wilkinson himself boasts a number of accolades, including winning Drambuie’s National Competition in 2011. In 2011 and 2015 he reached the finals in Diageo’s World Class competition, and this year he has once again made it into the finals along with four other UK bartenders.

He also has experience consulting for brands such as Johnnie Walker and Drambuie, and working with experimental food-smiths Bompas and Parr.

Last year The Beaufort Bar became the world’s first bar to send its cocktail menu into space.
