Jack Daniel’s rolls out Single Barrel Rye

Jack Daniel’s has added a third variant to its Single Barrel collection called Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye – the brand’s first new grain recipe since before Prohibition.

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye is the third addition to the brand’s Single Barrel collection

The release was rolled out throughout the US at the start of February and is the third offering in the Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Collection.

“Rye was one of the earliest forms of American whiskey and as the master distiller at Jack Daniel’s, I’m proud to honour that history with the release of Single Barrel Rye,” commented Jeff Arnett, Jack Daniel’s master distiller.

“You never want to over-barrel a rye whiskey so it was important for us to stay true to the style with grain forward character rather than barrel character while still allowing our barrels to interplay with the whiskey.

“I’m confident that everyone will be as impressed as I am with the taste and character of this bold new rye offering.”

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye is made from 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley grain to deliver a “clean, sweet tone” and a “slightly shorter” finish than the other Single Barrel variants.

It is the first new grain bill in more than 100 years.

The rye expression also uses the same cave spring water from the Jack Daniel’s Hollow as the distillery’s 150-year-old Tennessee Whiskey recipe.

The spirit is aged in charred white American oak barrels, made at the cooperage in Tennessee.

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye is available nationwide with an RRP of US$49.99 per 750ml.
