Rémy Cointreau renews US distribution deals

Rémy Martin maker Rémy Cointreau has moved some distribution powers to Republic National Distributing in three marketsThe French group’s portfolio will be handled by Young’s Market Company in 10 states, newly formed Breakthru Beverage Group in seven states and Southern Glazer’s of America in three states.
The firm said the “majority” of these deals “represent no change” to its current distributor alignment.
However, in three mid-tier Atlantic markets – Maryland, Washington D.C. and South Carolina – Rémy Cointreau USA moved distribution to Republic National Distributing.

“Our partnerships with Republic National Distributing, Young’s Market, Breakthru Beverage and Southern Glazer’s, some of which date back more than three decades, have strengthened over the years.
“Through these agreements, Rémy Cointreau USA is positioned to achieve even greater growth and success on our luxury portfolio.”
Breakthru Beverage Group launched in October last year following the merger of distribution heavyweights Charmer Sunbelt Group and Wirtz Beverage Group.
Southern Glazer’s was formed last month following the merger of Southern Wine & Spirits and Glazer’s, creating the largest alcoholic drinks distribution firm in the US.
Bacardi announced that it intended to terminate a plethora of its long-running US distribution agreements in favour of a new network created by Southern Glazer’s.
