Douglas Laing adds Port Ellen 36YO to XOP range

Douglas Laing & Co has added a number of single cask expressions to its XOP range, including the oldest Port Ellen the Scotch whisky bottler has ever released.

A Port Ellen 36 Years Old, costing £1,175, has been added to Douglas Laing’s XOP range

First launched in November last year, the Xtra Old Particular (XOP) collection is said to consist of the “oldest, finest and rarest” Scotch whiskies in the Laing family’s stocks.

The range also now consists of a Port Ellen 36 Year Old (£1,175.68), Girvan 50 Years Old (£374.17), Bruichladdich 26 Years Old (£175.91), Auchroisk 25 Years Old (£115.86), Strathmill 32 Years Old (£168.25), Highland Park 21 Years Old (£162.14), and Port Dundas 37 Years Old (£209.66).

Douglas Laing also bottles single cask whiskies under its Old Partticular and Provenance labels.

“Each month, we hand select casks from our vaults when we believe they have reached their peak of perfection, and bottle them under our Provenance, Old Particular and XOP brands,” said Fred Laing, managing director of Douglas Laing & Co.

“It’d be fair to say that single casks are our bread and butter, but we never let ourselves forget just how special it is to bottle these whiskies exactly as the distiller intended – straight from the cask, without chill-filtering or adding colouring, and at natural cask strength.”
