Beam Suntory creates new Oceania MD position

Beam Suntory has named former Campbell Arnott’s executive John Rosair as managing director of its Oceania unit.

John Rosair has been named managing director of Beam Suntory’s Oceania business unit

Rosair, who was most recently vice president of sales for Campbell Arnott’s Asia Pacific region and previously held a number of executive roles at Kellogg’s, will take up the new position on 17 August.

“Oceania is a tremendously important business unit for us, and John is an outstanding leader who can help us accelerate our growth in Australia and New Zealand,” said Albert Baladi, president of Beam Suntory International.

“Australia is the number one export market for Jim Beam and the growth engine for Canadian Club, and New Zealand is one of Jim Beam’s strongest markets. We’ve returned to impressive share growth in Australia, and we’ve enhanced our route to market with CCA.

“John joins our Oceania business at a time when we’re building momentum, and we’re confident that he and the Oceania team can take our performance throughout Oceania to the next level.”

The Oceania unit – comprised of Australia and New Zealand – is one of five business units within Beam Suntory’s new International region.

In April this year, Beam Suntory, owner of Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Courvoisier Cognac, unveiled its “simplified” regional structure, merging its four operating regions into three.

The company combined the management of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) businesses with Asia Pacific, to create a new International category.
