Tullibardine Distillery unveils 60-year-old Scotch
Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery Tullibardine has launched a 60-year-old bottling, priced up to £20,000, as part of its new Custodian’s Collection.
Just 70 bottles of 60-year-old Tullibardine 1952 have been releasedTullibardine 1952, the oldest whisky released by the distillery, is bottled in a bespoke Baccarat crystal decanter and is contained in a wooden presentation box.
The Custodian’s Collection has been released to coincide with the launch of the distillery’s Custodian’s Club, a private club which offers members access to a range of exclusive services and events.
Priced between £16,000 and £20,000, only 70 bottles of Tullibardine 1952 will be available, and a number of which have already been allocated.
The whisky has been finished in small Sherry casks.
First opened in 1949, Tullibardine was mothballed by then-owners Whyte & Mackay in 1995 before it was purchased by private equity investors in 2003.
It was then acquired by family-run French firm Picard Vin & Spiritueux in 2011.
The distillery has undertaken a multi-million pound expansion of its premises in recent years, adding a bottling line and small cooperage.
