Glencairn Crystal appoints ambassador

Glencairn Crystal has appointed Jose Santos as its new ambassador for Europe and Central AmericaBased in Portugal, Jose Santos will take on the role with the luxury-packaging manufacturer, which will also see him work to grow Glencairn’s reputation among Cognac and other spirit categories around the world.
“We are delighted to welcome Jose and I see it as a natural partnership,” commented director Scott Davidson. “We have actually worked with him for over several years; Jose has over 40 years’ experience in the cork industry.
“This wealth of experience will be invaluable in our expansion plans.
“We are fortunate that we have found individuals who understand the complexity of our product and how we want to promote the product. Because of that understanding we are benefiting from their success on a global scale.”
Santos has worked with Glencairn on several projects for four years and worked as director for Amorim, the world’s largest cork suppliers.
“I am delighted to have this opportunity to extend the partnership to a different level,” said Santos.
“My son and daughter are also involved in my business and like Glencairn, which is also a family business, I am sure we will work as a large happy family.”
In January this year, Glencairn Crystal acquired Burns Crystal for an undisclosed amount.
