HK Malt Masters Whisky Festival returns
By Annie HayesThe Malt Masters Whisky Festival is set to return to Hong Kong for its second year and promises to impress with a new venue and increased capacity.
With a plethora of new exhibitors, Hong Kong’s whisky lovers are in for a treatFollowing the fair’s success last spring, festival organisers have moved the event to a more central location and almost doubled the size of the site to accommodate demand.
The event, which begins on 7 March at Qube in Soho, will feature almost 30 stalls offering tastings of more than 200 different whiskies.
With the introduction of exhibitors such as Glendalough, The English Whisky Company, Penderyn, Annandale Distillery, and Spencerfield Spirits to name a few, Hong Kong’s whisky lovers are in for a treat.
This year will see the introduction of a ‘Dream Drams’ concept, whereby each stall will display a rare bottle available to taste upon redemption of a token – one of which is included as part of the ticket, with more available for purchase on the day.
Those keen to learn more about individual distilleries or improve their knowledge on whisky specifics – such as aroma – can take part in a variety of masterclasses available throughout the day.
In addition, visitors can do a spot of shopping with whiskies, whisky-related products and auction houses catering for all budgets.
Festival tickets begin at HK$800, and are available from www.maltmastershk.com.
