50 Cent has attempted to promote Effen Vodka ahead of fellow rapper P. Diddy’s CirocThe In Da Club rapper took to his Instagram account to promote Effen Vodka by posting an image of Sean “Diddy” Combs grinding with a large woman. The text over the picture read: “Damn… 50’s right. I’m Effen up right now.”
Diddy has been a spokesperson and co-owner of super-premium Ciroc vodka brand since 2007, partnering up with UK drinks giant Diageo.
Fans soon criticised 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, for equating drinking Ciroc with attracting larger women, accusing him of “fat shaming”.
The rapper promptly removed the post and replaced it with a more standard Effen Vodka promotional shot.
Diddy is also well-known for using social media to promote his brands, recently posting a sneak preview of the new Ciroc Pineapple expression. Effen Vodka also recently expanded its footprint in the flavoured vodka market with the launch of Effen Salted Caramel.
