WSTA appoints new chair of Spirits Committee
By Melita KielyThe UK Wine and Spirits Trade Association has appointed Finn O’Driscoll, managing director of SHS Drinks as the new chairman of its Spirits Committee.
The WSTA has elected Finn O’Driscoll as chairman of the Spirits Committee
O’Driscoll will take up the position following the departure of Chris Searle, who is standing down as chairman of the group.
The WSTA Spirits Committee provides a forum for member companies to discuss and guide all parts of policy and trade to do with spirit drinks, including production, taxation and legal matters affecting the industry.
“The Spirits Committee brings together spirits companies from across the sector so I am delighted to have been elected as the group’s chair,” commented O’Driscoll.
“I look forward to building on the excellent work achieved by the committee as it continues to address many important issues affecting the industry from work on free trade deals to fairer tax treatment.”
O’Driscoll boasts more than 20 years of experience working in the drinks industry at Griersons Blumenthal, Matthew Clark and Constellation Brands in various commercial, sales and marketing roles.
He joined soft and alcoholic drinks manufacturer SHS Drinks 14 years ago and is now responsible for overseeing all departments of the business.
“Finn brings a wealth of experience and offers unique insights as an SME brand owner, having worked in the sector for more than 20 years,” commented WSTA chief executive Miles Beale.
