Diageo releases 10-year-old Bundaberg rum

Diageo has released a 10-year-old edition of its Bundaberg rum brand, called the Master Distillers’ Collection Black Barrel.

Bundaberg is to unveil a 10-year-old rum at the distilleries new rum festival later this month

The expression, distilled in 2004, has been aged in American white oak for 10 years and finished in heavily charred barrels.

Described as a “well balanced” rum with notes of deep caramel and sweet raisins, Bundaberg Master Distillers’ Collection Black Barrel will be officially unveiled at the inaugural Spirit of Bundaberg Festival on 18 October.

As part of the festival, Bundaberg’s distillery will be transformed into a festival arena where rum fans will learn about the rum distillation process, attend master classes and enjoy rum cocktails.

“This is our way of paying back to the community, and we hope the festival will be a huge success for many years to come,” said Duncan Littler, senior brand manager for Bundaberg rum.

“To release our MDC Black Barrel here at the festival is an honour. The team at the BDC have crafted a truly delicious and unique drop that is worthy of the Bundaberg ‘Black’ title.”

Bundaberg Master Distillers’ Collection Black Barrel will be available from 18 October at an RRP of AUS$140.00.
