Gin Brand Champions 2014
By adminGIN BRAND CHAMPION 2014: BOMBAY SAPPHIRE
Against stiff competition, Bombay Sapphire has been crowned our Gin Brand Champion 2014The Resurgence of classic cocktails such as Negronis and Martinis has generated a growing demand for premium gin brands, with Bombay Sapphire reaping the rewards. The iconic blue bottle’s growth rate may have slowed from the 13% it boasted in 2012, but for the second year in a row it has outperformed the entire category. Brand owner Bacardi says “the creation of highly engaging brand campaigns continues to drive consumer awareness of Bombay Sapphire and loyal brand advocacy”.
Tanqueray’s growth of 5% was almost identical to Beefeater’s 4%, but the brand’s comeback from a stagnant 2012, perhaps also driven by the re-launch of Malacca, shows consumers are moving into super-premium territory.
