Svedka Vodka gets South Korean distribution

Constellation Brands has launched its Svedka Vodka brand in South Korea after noticing the category is “growing rapidly” in the country.

Svedka Vodka will soon be distributed in South Korea

The wine and spirits group has partnered with local South Korean drinks company Lotte Liquor, which will become the exclusive importer and distributor of Svedka Vodka in South Korea.

An Yumyung, director of imported spirits at Lotte Liquor, said he believed the Swedish vodka’s success in the US would help drive sales in the country.

“Svedka Vodka is globally recognized for its quality, craftsmanship and taste. We believe that the vodka category, which has traditionally been a small segment, is growing rapidly – doubling in fact – according to IWSR figures,” he said.

Constellation Brands sees the new agreement as a “key landmark” in its overall spirits strategy in Asia.

“Svedka Vodka is the number two imported vodka in the United States and we look forward to a very bright future for the brand in South Korea,” said Philip Kingston, senior vice president, International, Constellation Brands. “This partnership is consistent with our approach to align with leading players, such as Lotte, to help develop new categories and expose our brands to consumers in a compelling way.”
