RTD brand Moth raises £11m for UK and US expansion
Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand Moth has closed its largest funding round to date as it eyes deeper retail presence in the UK and US.

Puma Growth Partners, Beringea, Guinness Ventures and Rianta Capital have invested a combined total of £11 million (US$14.78m) in Moth.
The London-based RTD brand has said that it will use the funding to grow its UK off-trade presence, with a particular focus on convenience retail, and continue its expansion in the US.
Moth co-founder Sam Hunt said: “When we started Moth, the idea that a cocktail from a can could genuinely be delicious and rival one from a bar felt like a provocation. Now we’re selling one every four seconds and the momentum we’re seeing across grocery and convenience is the strongest it’s ever been.
“This raise is about taking that conviction deeper across the UK and America and we’re grateful to have attracted investors who understand our ambition and what we’re building at Moth.”
The successful raise follows Moth’s announcement that it turned over £20.9m (US$28m) in 2025, an increase of 67% year on year.

Figures release by the brand indicate that it is currently stocked in more than 40,000 locations in the UK, with the convenience sector accounting for 54% of sales by value.
Earlier this year, the Wine and Spirit Trade Association valued the UK off-trade market for RTDs at £704m (US$948m).
Ben Leslie, investment director at Puma Growth Partners, commented: “Moth is one of the most exciting brands in RTD and we are delighted to have led the company’s latest investment.
“The team has built impressive momentum across both grocery and convenience in the UK, with clear evidence of repeat purchase and market share gains and now setting sights on replicating that success in the US. We’re excited to be backing a business that understands how to win in a rapidly evolving category and has a clear plan for scaling in the UK and internationally.”
In 2025, the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America announced that the spirits-based RTD segment had grown by 19.6% in the US off-trade for a total value of US$2.7 billion.
Moth has indicated that canned cocktails are growing seven times faster in the US than the broader RTD category, which is valued at US$14.7bn.
Harry Thomas, partner and head of portfolio at Beringea, commented: “As early backers of Moth, it was clear the business had the ingredients of a standout consumer brand: a clear proposition, an exceptional product, and a team with real ambition.
“Since our initial investment, Rob, Sam, and the team have translated that promise into impressive growth, not least in the US, where Beringea’s transatlantic presence and network have supported their expansion. We’re delighted to continue backing Moth as it builds a category-defining drinks business.”
Moth stepped into summer 2026 with a pop-up shop in London’s Shoreditch that offered 10,000 free RTDs to customers.
This was followed by the brand’s largest out-of-home advertising campaign to date, with billboards appearing across London and Manchester.
