Glencadam appoints new distillery manager
By Joe RogersAngus Dundee-owned Glencadam has welcomed Will Stafford, ex-manager and head distiller of Hinch Distillery, as its new distillery manager.

Representatives for Glencadam described the appointment as ‘marking the next phase in its growth following the distillery’s 200th anniversary celebrations.’
In addition to his nearly five-year stint at Hinch, Stafford has also held senior production and management roles at Copeland and The Boatyard distilleries.
“I’ve been fortunate to help design, build and commission several distilleries, but Glencadam’s heritage, its commitment to traditional craft and the consistency of its spirit make it truly special,” said Stafford. “Having worked across both automated and manual distilleries, the chance to return to a completely manual plant with such history and character was something I couldn’t pass up.
“My focus will be on protecting the character and quality that has defined Glencadam for two centuries, while supporting the team as the distillery continues to evolve in its next chapter.”
Glencadam, which began distilling in the town of Brechin back in 1825, marked its bicentenary last year by opening a new multi-million-pound visitor centre.
At The Scotch Whisky Masters 2025, Glencadam was awarded seven Gold medals.
Earlier this year, Glencadam’s core range single malts received a makeover, including updated illustrations by Edinburgh-based artist Andrew Davidson, best-known for his work on the Harry Potter book series.
