Diageo India to close manufacturing unit in Hyderabad
By Joe RogersThe Indian arm of Diageo, United Spirits, is expected to cease factory operations at another of its Hyderabad sites by the end of August 2026.

The facility is located in Venkateshwara Nagara, in the Malkajgiri district of Hyderabad.
United Spirits has confirmed its intention to transfer the excise license associated with the unit to an as yet undisclosed party, pending the necessary statutory approvals.
The filing indicates that the facility generated 2% of the company’s revenue in the 2025-26 financial year, equivalent to ₹5,99 billion (US$62.6 million).
This latest closure comes as the Bangalore-based United Spirits continues its ‘multi-year supply chain agility programme.’
The initiative first announced in December 2022 has already led to the closure of a site in Hyderabad last year, and another in Uttar Pradesh in 2023.
United Spirits also operates sites in Goa, Maharashtra, Bangalore, Rajasthan, Odisha and West Bengal.
The Spirits Business has approached United Spirits for further comment.
