The new 45-seat speakeasy, called 31 South, overlooks the distillery floor and is located at 800 31st Street South in the city of St Petersburg.

Open from Thursday to Saturday from 6pm to 11pm, the second-floor lounge is said to evoke the Prohibition era with a palette of deep greens and blues, warm wood finishes and gold accents.

The space also features historic photography and locally sourced furnishings.

The cocktail menu utilises spirits from the distillery and includes serves such as the Matcha Latte Martini, made with Banyan Reserve Vodka, and the Hibiscus Gimlet, which uses Old St Pete Tropical Gin as its base.

Other cocktails include a Mai Tai made with Old St Pete Righteous Rum & Spice and Tippler’s Orange Liqueur, the Maple Old Fashioned created with Old St Pete Sunshine Whiskey, and a speciality Espresso Martini.

Tastings of the distillery’s spirits are also available at the bar.

The menu of bites has been curated by Johnathan Rodriguez, a Michelin-trained chef.

“During the day, St Petersburg Distillery is a place where guests can experience the spirit of St Pete in our Spirits Garden, Welcome Salon, and tour Florida’s top craft distillery,” said Evan Brownstein, CEO of St Petersburg Distillery.

“Now, at night, guests can discover a whole new experience, a place true to St Petersburg’s elegant bootlegger spirit in a convivial club-like social setting.”
