Moth kicks off summer with 10,000 free Margaritas

Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand Moth is celebrating the start of summer in London by giving away 10,000 canned Margaritas from 4-6 June.

The Moth: License is returning for the start of summer

The canned cocktail maker is reprising its corner shop pop-up, the Moth: License, at 150 Shoreditch High Street in east London for three days in June, during which it will give away 10,000 of its RTD Margaritas on a first-come, first-served basis.

Celebrating the start of Moth’s ‘Margarita summer’, Moth: Licence – the ‘You, Me, Marg’ Shoreditch edition – is designed for dropping in, grabbing a drink, and wanting to ‘stay for the vibes’.

Guests are told to expect a space that has the familiar feel of your favourite off-licence, but with the ‘swagger’ of a cocktail bar.

Alongside the drinks, visitors are invited to kick off their ‘Margarita summer’ with a host of convenience-themed surprises.

Live DJ sets will play across all three days of the pop-up, and there will also be the chance to win prizes. Appearances from brand partners throughout the weekend can also be expected.

Rob Wallis, Moth co-founder, says: “Moth: Licence started as a playful take on the corner shop – somewhere everyone knows, but not like this. Bringing it back to Shoreditch with 10,000 Margaritas just feels right. It’s a simple idea: great cocktails, big surprises and a reason to get together as summer starts in the city.”

The Moth: License will be open from 12pm-7pm from Thursday 4 June to Saturday 6 June.

Moth’s 125ml canned Margarita is made with Tequila Enemigo, and has an ABV of 14.9%.

It won a Gold medal in the 2022 and 2023 editions of The Spirits Business Pre-Mixed and RTD Masters blind-tasting competitions.

Last year, the brand tapped into the Spicy Margarita trend, and more recently, it debuted two ‘unapologetically fruity’ cocktails: a Mango Margarita and a Strawberry Daiquiri.
