Kyrö ryes up for Game of Thrones collab
By Miona MadsenFinnish Kyrö Distillery Company has partnered with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products to launch a limited edition whisky collection inspired by Game of Thrones.

The ‘unlikely’ official partnership with Kyrö, which was born in a sauna in rural Finland, brings the world of Westeros to life with two 100% rye whisky expressions.
The range pays tribute to the Game of Thrones TV series, which premiered 15 years ago on HBO.
The launch of the two whiskies coincides with the third season of the HBO Original series, House of the Dragon, which explores the story of House Targaryen in greater depth.
Inspired by House Targaryen and its motto ‘fire and blood’, Kyrö has created two whiskies: Whisky of Fire and Whisky of Blood.
Kalle Valkonen, co-founder and master distiller at Kyrö Distillery Company, said: “From the beginning, we wanted to create something that felt authentic to HBO’s Game of Thrones. Inspired by House Targaryen and its defining association with dragons, fire, bloodline and power, we created two distinct whisky expressions that interpret different facets of the same iconic world.”
Whisky of Fire is made from 100% smoked malted rye, aged in ex-Bourbon barrels and finished in rum casks.
Bottled at 46.6% ABV, it offers aromas of light smoke, toasted rye, and spiced apple jam. The palate reveals complex smoke, mineral notes, sweet grains, blackberry, and a hint of menthol.
Kyrö Whisky of Blood is described as a lighter expression with a more delicate character. It is made from 100% malted rye and aged in ex-Bourbon and French oak casks, with an ABV of 46%.
The aroma opens with notes of cereals, apple, and apricot, layered with tonka bean, chestnut, and beeswax. On the palate, the whisky showcases sweet fruity notes along with rye spice, chestnut, crème brûlée, and toasted cereals.
Both expressions feature collectable packaging inspired by maps and symbolic motifs.
Kyrö Whisky of Fire and Whisky of Blood will be available globally in limited quantities in select markets from June, with an RRP of €70-€85 (US$81-US$99) per 700ml bottle.
