Catoctin Creek sets date for ‘grand reopening’

Virginia-based Catoctin Creek Distilling Company has announced a complete refresh of its tasting room, with the reopening set for 1 July.

The tasting room upgrade includes extended opening hours to better serve evening and weekend visitors and an improved guest experience.

By transforming the distillery tasting room from a traditional sampling counter, Catoctin Creek’s new experience aims to serve as a premium cocktail destination.

The changes are said to emphasise comfort, service, and a more refined presentation of the distillery’s spirits, along with a broader cocktail and mocktail programme featuring classic cocktails and seasonal offerings.

Scott Harris, founder and general manager of Catoctin Creek Distilling Company, said: “This refresh is about elevating the way guests experience Catoctin Creek. We want our tasting room to feel like the best seat in Loudoun County for enjoying a craft cocktail, learning about spirits, and spending time with friends.”

The transformation is largely a result of the recent passage of Virginia SB424, signed by Governor Abigail Spanberger, which amended Virginia Code §4.1-119 to allow distilleries to serve larger quantities of their spirits to each customer.

The ‘grand opening’ of the venue is scheduled for 1pm on Wednesday 1 July.

The celebration will invite local, county, state, and congressional officials, as well as community members and local media, to experience the newly refreshed space firsthand.

Catoctin Creek Distilling Company was founded in 2009 by Scott and Becky Harris as Virginia’s ‘first legal distillery’ since Prohibition.

Earlier this year, the distillery appointed PM Spirits as its distributor in New York.
