Beesou creates buzz for World Bee Day in London
By Georgie CollinsTo mark World Bee Day today (20 May), Beesou Honey Apéritif is uniting London’s bar scene with a city-wide celebration of the airborne pollinators.

Marking its third year supporting World Bee Day, Beesou is transforming the occasion into its annual brand anniversary, honouring the vital role bees play in ecosystems and showcasing how the drinks industry can give back.
For this year’s activation, the brand has installed bee hotels at bars across London. These small habitats provide safe resting spaces for pollinators, supporting ‘traveller bees’ as they move through urban environments, pollinating plants and sustaining biodiversity.
Alongside the initiative, some of London’s bars and hospitality venues will serve limited edition Beesou cocktails, each created to celebrate the ethically sourced honey that sits at the core of the brand.
“This is Beesou’s third World Bee Day, and it’s incredibly exciting to see how much momentum the movement has gained,” said Mark Wakefield, co-founder of Beesou Honey Apéritif. “We’re thrilled by how many bars across London are getting behind it and helping shine a spotlight on the importance of bees.
“Beesou was created from a love of bees, nature, and natural ingredients, so seeing the hospitality industry come together to celebrate and raise awareness around pollinators feels genuinely special. Bees are essential to our ecosystems and food systems, and World Bee Day is a reminder that even small actions can help protect them for future generations.”
Participating London venues include Treehouse Hotel, Piccadilly; The Mandrake Hotel, Fitzrovia; Joia Rooftop at Art’otel, Battersea; Sketch, Mayfair; Young’s Pubs; 1922 Café at The Sloane Club, Chelsea; and The Ivy Chelsea Garden.
Beesou say World Bee Day reflects its core philosophy of supporting ethical bee-keeping. The bee hotels initiative brings biodiversity support directly into urban hospitality spaces and encourages both industry professionals and consumers to consider their environmental impact.
In March, Beesou launched a cocktail competition for bartenders that challenged them to ‘bee the change’.
