Duncan Taylor to host two Spirit of Speyside events
By Nicola CarruthersFor the first time in its history, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky will open its doors to the public during the Spirit of Speyside festival.

Whisky festival Spirit of Speyside will return for its 27th edition from 29 April to 4 May 2026.
Duncan Taylor will host two events, the Bottler Archive Experience and the Would We Lie To You evening.
Normally closed to the public, Huntly-based Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky will host the behind-the-scenes Bottler Archive Experience featuring some of its rarest bottlings as part of the festival.
Guests will meet at Duncan Taylor’s King Street premises before embarking on an insider’s look at the company’s own cooperage. The opportunity to sample a rare whisky directly from the cask will take place in the firm’s newly built warehouse.
Senior hospitality and spirits manager Ian Logan will guide visitors through five whiskies from five different decades, including a 1960s dram from now-closed Caperdonich Distillery, followed by expressions from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s.
The experience also includes a gourmet lunch from the company’s Bank Restaurant, which showcases a huge portfolio of whiskies.
Meanwhile, the Would We Lie To You event is an evening experience featuring a panel of experts who will guide guests through three drams from the Octave portfolio, giving guests the chance to guess who is telling the truth about what’s inside each glass.
“As one of the oldest independent bottlers, our portfolio of whiskies is incredible,” said Logan.
“While we don’t have a visitor’s centre, we decided to create something different for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival this year, especially for whisky enthusiasts. It allows us to showcase some of the finest malts Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky is lucky enough to own.
“The response to ticket sales has proved that there is an appetite for more of the decade experience, so we may use this as a launch pad for some further events later this year.”
The Bottler Archive Experience costs £200 (US$264) per person, while the Would We Lie To You event is priced at £30 (US$40). Both events can be booked on the Spirit of Speyside website.
