Sydney’s Maybe Cocktail Festival returns

Returning for its fourth year on 14-19 April, Maybe Cocktail Festival will bring 22 of the world’s best and most exciting bars to Sydney.

Bars attending this year include members of the World’s 50 Best Bars list, including Buenos Aires’ Tres Monos, Cartagena’s Alquímico, London’s Connaught Bar, Florence’s Locale Firenze and New York’s Sip & Guzzle.

Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy – which was named the World’s Best Bar in 2024 but fell to second place in 2025 – will also take part.

Other teams come from New York’s Bar Madonna, San Francisco’s Trick Dog, Mexico City’s Kaito del Valle, Berlin’s Wax On and Hong Kong’s Montana.

Australian representation includes Melbourne institutions Above Board, Byrdi and Caretaker’s Cottage.

The festival will take place in some of Sydney’s best-known venues, including Maybe Sammy and El Primo Sanchez, and feature guest shifts, collaborations and walk-in events.

Festival director Stefano Catino said: “Each year we’ve tried to lift the standard while keeping the spirit of the week intact. It’s not about putting on a show for the sake of it. It’s about getting the bars that are setting the pace globally behind our own counters.

“Sydney knows a good drink when it sees one. This week just means you don’t have to scroll through a list or book a flight to try it.”

The full 2026 programme will be revealed in the coming weeks.
