Southern Glazer’s makes yet another acquisition
Less than a week after it announced the purchase of Clare Rose, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has reached an agreement to buy Eagle Rock Distributing Co’s Colorado operations.
The deal includes ‘substantially all the assets’ of Eagle Rock in Colorado and is expected to close in the summer.
Eagle Rock will continue to operate in Georgia.
Like Clare Rose, Eagle Rock distributes Anheuser-Busch’s portfolio in its home state, which includes Cutwater Spirits, NÜTRL Vodka Seltzer and BeatBox Beverages, as well as its beer brands.
Eagle Rock also distributes Tilray Brands, Sazerac Company, and a range of brands from additional suppliers.
“This acquisition enables Southern Glazer’s to significantly expand its total beverage distribution in Colorado by adding high-profile brands to our portfolio that strategically align with our total beverage strategy,” said Wayne E Chaplin, Southern Glazer’s’ president and CEO.
“Eagle Rock has built a strong business in Colorado with a highly respected team and valued supplier partnerships. By bringing our organisations together, we can expand opportunities for suppliers, provide even greater choice and service for customers, and continue building on our leadership in the marketplace.”
The firm said the acquisition advances its strategy to deliver a ‘broad, end-to-end beverage portfolio’ for customers and supplier partners.

Upon closing, Southern Glazer’s will continue operations out of Eagle Rock’s existing facilities and distribute its portfolio across the Colorado markets currently serviced by the operation.
