Matusalem unveils 23YO French Oak Enigma
Ron Matusalem has created a 23-year-old rum aged in ex-Bordeaux barrels as the first addition to its Enigma series in 15 years.

The Enigma range is said to embody the brand’s more than 150 years of mastery in ageing and selecting the world’s finest woods.
The latest edition to the line pays homage to the brand’s French roots.
It joins the permanent Enigma range, alongside gold-labelled Gran Reserva American Oak, which debuted in 2010.
The new 23-year-old rum has been aged exclusively in ex-Bordeaux oak barrels using the Solera system.
Bottled at 40% ABV, the result is a reddish-brown rum featuring notes of red berries, moss, vanilla, honey, dried fruits, and a blend of sweet and herbaceous spices.
Claudio Renaud Álvarez, president and fifth-generation member of the Ron Matusalem founding family, commented on the release: “Matusalem Enigma French Oak brings to mind the elegance of ex-Bordeaux French oak barrels thanks to our groundbreaking Solera System.
“The result is a deeply complex and refined rum that captures the French charm of our origins.”
French Oak Enigma is presented in a wooden-textured bottle. It features a natural cork wooden stopper, diamond-effect glass, and the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark on the bottle’s neck.
In 2024, the brand launched the limited edition Lefebre as the first release in its Tributes Collection.
Last year, Ron Matusalem teamed up with Sips co-founder Marc Álvarez to create a collection of seven cocktails that reinterprets the brand’s core range.
