Kiyori opens in former Marylebone bank vault
A Japanese-inspired underground cocktail bar named Kiyori will offer late-night cocktails in London’s Marylebone, with DJs until 1am on weekends.

The bar is located within the former bank vaults of the Grade II-listed One Cavendish Square, which opened last September after a two-year refurbishment. The ground floor, above Kiyori, is home to Kyoto-inspired restaurant Aki London.
The bar is described as a ‘sultry, late-night destination where Japanese craftsmanship, refined mixology and music converge’.
Its interiors were shaped by AD100-listed designer Francis Sultana. Artwork includes a tapestry by Aziza Kadyri and mosaics by Bouke de Vries in the bathrooms.
The gold and bronze-toned space features gilded ceilings, mirrored surfaces and a dedicated dancefloor, with resident DJs taking over until 1am on weekends. The bar also holds a 2am licence from Thursday to Saturday.

The drinks programme is centred around craftsmanship, seasonality and Japanese ingredients with regional flavours and modern techniques.
The menu is said to take guests on a journey through Japan. One cocktail is named the Fuji-San and is made with coconut oil-washed mezcal and layered with mango. The Hokkaido blends pandan and coconut snow, while the Sakuru combines Roku gin with sakura, vermouth and lychee and is finished with blossom air.
The drinks will be complemented by small plates such as wagyu beef and black garlic gyoza, tempura and yakitori.
Japan is the inspiration behind a plethora of recent bar openings, including New York City’s Stone & Soil, Barcelona’s Mugi and Singapore’s Pop City x Pony.
In other London bar news, FlipDog is set to open in the capital this month, while Laki Kane will relaunch in a new venue.
