Kitty’s Cosmopolitan Club opens in Chicago
By Rupert HohwielerChicago’s newest bar, Kitty’s Cosmopolitan Club, claims to have the city’s first dedicated -16°F walk-in freezer cocktail station.

Located on W Hubbard Street in River North, Kitty’s Cosmopolitan Club comes from the team behind Chicago bars Three Dots and a Dash and Gus’ Sip & Dip.
Kevin Beary, who opened Gus’ Sip & Dip at the end of 2024 and is a beverage director and partner at Kitty’s, said: “Kitty’s Cosmopolitan Club’s guiding principle is to offer cocktails that have a classic reference point, utilising modern techniques.
“This allows the guest to base their ordering decision on a familiar favourite while enjoying the benefits of modern cocktail-making methods and spirit selection, beyond traditional recipes.”
The bar claims to have the city’s ‘first’ dedicated -16°F walk-in freezer cocktail station, which offers a range of ‘impeccably cold, expertly crafted drinks’.
Other services include tableside stirred Martinis. The bar programme focuses on refined classics and has a concise selection of 10 spirits per category.
Gus’ Sip & Dip is also known for its concise list of spirits. The venue was nominated as a finalist for best new US cocktail bar at the 2025 Spirited Awards.
Bar managers Tyler Maclellan and Scott Kitsmiller lead the team at Kitty’s.
David Collins Studio, which previously worked on Chicago-based restaurants Tre Dita and Crying Tiger, designed the ‘opulent’ interiors.
In other recent Chicago drinks news, Katie Renshaw’s Bar Bambi finally opened in the city after an 11th-hour delay.
