Equal Measures offers free WSET training to POC
Non-profit organisation Equal Measures UK has opened applications for its 2026 education and mentorship programme, which supports people of colour (POC) and those from marginalised backgrounds.

WSET and the Gerard Basset Foundation support the programme.
Equal Measures launched in 2020 with the aim of supporting those from marginalised backgrounds who work within the spirits and cocktail spaces.
The non-profit provides fully funded WSET Levels 1, 2 and 3 in spirits, as well as mentorship with key industry figures, community days, upskilling and more.
Last year, it partnered with WSET and Queena Wong, the founder of Curious Vines, to expand its support for those in the wine sector.
One of Equal Measures’ beneficiaries, Michael Hilton, said: “Equal Measures has been a huge help to me, allowing me to meet and learn from many incredible people, including my mentor Nate, whose invaluable advice has helped navigate many a crisis.
“Equal Measures has also supported me to study for my WSET Level 2 and 3 in spirits, which has opened up a whole new world of understanding and job prospects.”
The programme is open to those from Black, Asian, and other minority ethnic backgrounds who are working in the UK cocktail, spirits and wine industries. The programme is not currently available to those working in beer.
Those from marginalised groups outside of these demographics who have faced substantial, systemic barriers to their career progression due to their identities may also apply. This includes queer and genderqueer persons, as well as those who are neurodivergent.
