TLDC creates London’s ‘first’ 10YO single malt
By Miona MadsenGleann Mòr Spirits-owned The London Distillery Company (TLDC) has revealed Ten Times Around the Sun, which claims to be the first 10-year-old single malt whisky from the UK capital.

The forthcoming English single malt whisky, distilled from Quench spring barley, was placed in a single ex-Bourbon barrel (cask number 007) on 20 October 2015.
Bottled at 51.4% ABV, Ten Times Around the Sun is offered non-chill-filtered with natural colour.
The whisky presents aromas of tinned peaches, sliced mango, nougat, earthy dunnage, and oak spices. On the palate, it reveals notes of tinned fruits, milk chocolate, cereal, and Szechuan pepper.
Matt McKay, managing director and whisky maker at TLDC, said the new single malt “marks a defining moment” for the producer.
“It honours one of our earliest casks, capturing the original spirit that began our journey,” he continued.
“This release is a tangible piece of London’s whisky history, surviving the distillery’s closure in 2019 and now emerging as a symbol of our return. This is a whisky born of our past, shaped by our revival, and confidently demonstrating our bold, bright future.”
Limited to 220 bottles, the 10-year-old single malt retails for £89.95 (US$123) and will be available from the distillery’s website from 27 February.
The release features artwork inspired by the single malt’s decade of maturation, visually capturing 10 complete orbits around the sun and the passage of time that has shaped the spirit.
TLDC was established in 2011 in Battersea, marking the first new whisky distillery in the capital since Lea Valley Distillery closed in 1903.
Although the distillery shut down in 2019, it was acquired by Edinburgh-headquartered Gleann Mòr Spirits in 2023.
Last year, TLDC launched two expressions: Renascence – The Revival Release single malt, and a blended malt called The Golden Union: Release No1 – A Field in England.
