Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola intros lower-ABV cans

Brown-Forman has upped the size and lowered the ABV for the latest SKU in its Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola ready-to-drink (RTD) range in the US.

The new 16oz single-serve cans have a lower ABV of 5%

The RTDs were made in partnership with Coca-Cola and the changes were designed to meet current consumer demands for lighter, RTD cocktails.

The ABV for both Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola and Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola Zero has been lowered from 7% to a ‘more sessionable’ 5%, while the size of the can has been increased from 12oz (355ml) to 16oz (475ml).

The format is said to enable more convenience, portability and on-premise efficiency.

Mary Beth O’Mara, Jack Daniel’s RTD brand director, said: “Single serve continues to grow in the ready-to-drink category and this size gives our retail, convenience and on-premise partners an easy way to capture on-the-fly purchases while offering a lighter, more sessionable Jack & Coke.

“This 16oz can takes our classic recipe and adapts it to fit today’s drinking occasions, ultimately meeting people where they are with a bold taste.”

The new sized formats are permanent SKUs with national distribution across the US.

Twelve-can packs are available to purchase, with individual cans priced at RRP US$3.99 each.

Last year, the brand added a vanilla variant to the Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola range.

Vanilla followed the launch of Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola Cherry in 2024 and then the original flavour, which initially launched in Mexico in 2022 before being rolled out in the US and the UK in 2023.

Brown-Forman’s financial results for the first half (H1) of fiscal 2026 showed Jack Daniel’s RTD sales fell by 4%. This was attributed to their removal from Canadian retail shelves.

Brown-Forman has planned a global push for Jack Daniel’s this year.
