Is this the world’s coldest Martini?
London’s Bob Bob Ricard is meeting the growing thirst for Martinis by chilling its cocktails to -22ºC.

The cocktail is named the World’s Coldest Martini, however the title is unverified.
Guests can choose between Reserve Vodka or Tanqueray 10 gin as a base, both offered dry to ‘honour the purity and discipline of the classic Martini’. For a garnish, guests can select either a simple twist or an olive.
Each cocktail is batched without any ice or dilution, then frozen directly in its bottle. A white-gloved waiter then serves the cocktail directly from the ice-cold bottle into a frozen glass.
The bar said the serve is the ‘result of meticulous experimentation, where science meets mixology in perfect harmony through temperature control and balanced spirits’.
At Mimi Kakushi in Dubai, Martinis are served at -20ºC, which is the result of the batched cocktail being frozen inside a block of ice.
There are also tales of a Martini at the Langham London reaching -25ºC owing to the use of an antigriddle, while London’s Purl reached -40ºC by using liquid nitrogen.
Guinness World Records is yet to award the title for the world’s coldest Martini.
The classic cocktail has been on the rise in recent years. Those looking to embrace the trend include Twenty8 Nomad, which opened last year with a fully Martini-focused menu.
Pietro Collina of Viajante87 has been named a defining force behind the cocktail’s renaissance. His bar’s Glacier Martini is chilled to -18ºC.
