Bar Bambi opening delayed at 11th hour
Katie Renshaw’s debut venue, Bar Bambi, was set to open last weekend (14 February) but was forced to postpone with one day’s notice.
Posting on Instagram, the bar said: “While we had every intention of opening doors this weekend for you lovebirds on Valentine’s Day, the city had other plans.
“Even though we’re hitting a tiny delay on finally opening Bar Bambi, the good news is that this is the final hurdle, and we’re using the extra time to polish things up so everything is exactly how we want it when we finally open doors.
“What’s honestly blown us away is the amount of love, DMs, texts, drive-bys, and ‘can’t wait!’ energy you’ve sent our way. It means more than you know.
“Building this space has been such a labour of love, and feeling the community show up before we’ve even unlocked the doors is pretty surreal.”
Renshaw’s plans for Bar Bambi were first announced in October 2025, with the official opening date revealed just last week (11 February).
An updated opening date has not been announced yet, though a spokesperson confirmed it should be “just a short delay”.
Bar Bambi will serve ‘intentional cocktails with personality’, with drinks playing with flavour, texture and form.
