Wilder Whiskey files to liquidate assets
Tennessee-based Wilder Whiskey filed for voluntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy to liquidate its assets on 23 December 2025.
The Chapter 7 filing was filed a day before Christmas Eve in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and listed the company’s address in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
The filing lists up to US$100,000 in assets and liabilities.
Hank Zapf and Will Bigger founded Wilder Whiskey Inc in 2021, with headquarters in Kingston, Tennessee.
The firm’s whiskey seltzer brand launched in March 2022, offering four flavours combined with American-made whiskey at 5% ABV.
At launch, the ready-to-drink cocktails were described as “exceptional and affordable, that will revolutionise the seltzer market.” The products are reportedly designed for consumers aged between 21 and 35.
While the company has not disclosed reasons for the bankruptcy filing, its website says it has been actively seeking “early investors and leveraging the expertise of seasoned leaders”.
