Lark unveils luxury single malt portfolio
By Georgie CollinsTasmanian whisky distillery Lark has unveiled a luxury single malt portfolio, marking a defining moment in the brand’s evolution.

The new luxury portfolio comprises four expressions, which aim to elevate the ‘fortified depth, flavour intensity and silky complexity’ for which the brand is known.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing these new expressions, wrapped in Lark’s bold new look, out into the world,” said Stuart Gregor, managing director and CEO. “We’re whisky fanatics at heart, driven by the people we work with, the place we come from, and a pioneering spirit that keeps us pushing forward. It really is whisky from another world, and you can taste Tasmania in every drop.”
The four new single malts have been introduced alongside the brand’s new visual identity, with each whisky capturing the ‘wild beauty, elemental power and creative freedom’ of the Australian island of Tasmania, located off the south coast of the mainland.
The sculpturally redesigned 700ml bottle features vibrant new livery, with this latest chapter said to signal Lark’s ‘confident step’ onto the world stage and showcase the brand’s ambition to reshape the global new world luxury whisky category.
The design language channels the island’s wild landscapes and the ‘soaring spirit’ of the skylark, pairing contemporary elegance with illustrated Tasmanian flora and fauna that celebrate the brand’s singular provenance.
Three of the expressions, Fire Trail, Devil’s Storm and Ruby Abyss, lead the portfolio’s global release, each revealing a distinct dimension of Tasmania’s unique character.
Meanwhile, the fourth expression, Cinder Forest, will be available exclusively through global travel retail (GTR) at key international airports.
Fire Trail is described as the ‘purest’ expression of the Lark house style: ‘bold, vibrant and unmistakably Tasmanian’.
It offers notes of vibrant citrus and baked fruit, which are said to ‘meet the depth’ of Port and Sherry casks. The expression is balanced by a subtle savoury note of applewood-smoked water.
Devil’s Storm is said to be the bold heart of Lark, with depth, texture and ‘Tasmanian intensity’. The brand says it embodies everything that defines the Lark craft: ‘fearless flavour, rare cask mastery and a sense of place that’s unmistakably Tasmanian’.
This single malt was aged in vintage first-fill Port and Sherry casks from Seppeltsfield Wines and finished in American oak. It reveals notes of scorched red fruit, almond fudge and rich chocolate.
Meanwhile, Ruby Abyss, which completes the trio of global releases, is described as a whisky of rare depth, indulgence and elemental balance. It represents the first release in the Lark super luxury range, where every detail is ‘elevated to art’.
This ‘deeply complex’ single malt has been aged in 100% first-fill vintage Port and Sherry casks from Seppeltsfield Wines, including a century-old Australian Port reserve.
The nose offers dark fruits and caramelised brown sugar, leading to silky mocha and finishing with brandy snap sweetness fused with delicate Tasmanian peat smoke.
The GTR exclusive, Cinder Forest, showcases the depth of the Lark fortified house style through hand-selected casks, providing ‘a symphony of layered complexity’. Lark says the expression embodies the new world creativity and elevated craftsmanship that define the brand.
Shaped by first-fill Port and Sherry casks, with a rich American oak finish, the single malt offers sweet vanilla and honey on first approach, while a citrus mist lifts to reveal layers of chocolate and spiced dates.
“From confronting century-old laws to celebrating Tasmania’s thriving whisky community, our journey with Lark has always been driven by passion and belief,” said co-founder Bill Lark. “This new range brings together our respect for craft, our island home and our desire to keep pushing what Tasmanian whisky can be. We can’t wait to share these new expressions with the world.”
The luxury core range will be rolled out through premium bars, select retail partners, e-commerce platforms, and GTR worldwide.
The new portfolio has made a regional debut with exclusive launches in Malaysia and Singapore early this year.
Lark Distilling was tipped as a world whisky brand to watch in our World Spirits Report 2025.
