Kavalan saddles up for Lunar New Year
Taiwanese single malt brand Kavalan has released a limited edition Golden Steed & Peonies gift set in celebration of the Year of the Horse.
Kavalan’s 2026 Lunar New Year exclusive highlights vitality and abundance with a golden steed and blooming peonies on the limited edition packaging.
The gift set pairs a branded tulip-shaped nosing glass with Kavalan Triple Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky, which was matured in oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, and Moscatel Sherry casks.
With an ABV of 40%, the expression offers notes of dried fruit, caramel and tropical fruit on the palate.

The Year of the Horse Limited Edition Golden Steed & Peonies gift set will be available in various international markets, including Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, the US, Guam, South Africa and Nigeria.
In Europe, the 2026 Lunar New Year set is available in select markets, including the Czech Republic, Germany, Eastern Europe, and Cyprus.
In Taiwan, the brand has launched a trio of releases under the Kavalan 2026 Gift Collection to celebrate the Year of the Horse.
The extended range includes not only the Golden Steed & Peonies, but Concertmaster Port Cask Finish as Golden Steed & Horizons in green packaging, and Solist Vinho Barrique Single Cask Strength as Golden Steed & Clouds in blue. Each set includes a 700ml and a 50ml miniature bottle of whisky.
All three expressions are available in Taiwan through the brand’s official channels, including the Kavalan Distillery Shop, Kavalan Whisky shops, and select local liquor stores.
Miniature collection
To kick off the year, Kavalan has also announced the release of a miniature whisky gift set featuring four 50ml bottles.
The set showcases four of the brand’s ‘most prized’ single malts: Ex-Bourbon Oak, Wine Oak, Brandy Oak, and Port Oak, each bottled at 54% ABV.
The miniature collection will launch in central travel retail locations across Asia starting in early 2026, including leading international airports in South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.
Last year, Kavalan Distillery celebrated its 20th anniversary.
The brand unveiled its first age-statement whisky in 2025. The 15-year-old single malt was aged in four cask types: ex-Bourbon, oloroso Sherry, Ruby Port, and a puncheon.
