Irish Distillers confirms home market price increases

Jameson owner Irish Distillers has confirmed it will implement a price increase in Ireland for some of the brands in its portfolio, effective 22 February.

The undisclosed price increase will be the first from Pernod Ricard’s Irish whiskey division in two and a half years.

Reportedly, the price hike is due to shifting market conditions, including rising raw-material costs and fluctuating demand.

A representative from Irish Distillers stated: “Like many businesses, we continue to operate in a dynamic cost environment. As a result, Irish Distillers will be implementing a small increase across a portion of our portfolio in the Irish market from 22 February 2026 – the first price increase since August 2023.

“We have communicated this change to our customers, and our sales teams will continue to engage with them directly. We would like to thank our customers for their continued support and understanding.”

Irish Distillers operates the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, which is home to brands Jameson, Midleton Very Rare, Redbreast, Spot Whiskey, Method and Madness, and Powers.

The company has not confirmed which specific brands will be affected by the increase.

In a statement to the Irish Examiner, the company confirmed that its portfolio in Ireland includes Pernod Ricard brands and that “the price increase applies across some of those brands.”

Last year, Midleton Distillery halted production for a couple of months “for a routine, periodic review.”
