Irish Bottling Company doubles output in first year

Origen X-founded Irish Bottling Company (IBC) has produced more than 900,000 bottles since launching in August 2024, more than doubling its forecast production within its first year of operation.

The contract bottling facility says it has seen strong demand from international brand owners seeking flexible, cost-efficient bottling and export solutions for Irish spirits, particularly as brands look to manage risk and capital expenditure in a challenging economic environment.

CEO Harry Dunne said: “IBC was created to solve a clear gap in the market: giving brand owners access to high-quality Irish bottling infrastructure without forcing them into inflexible, high-volume commitments. The response in our first year has validated that strategy, particularly from international partners looking to scale responsibly.”

Offering a fully integrated turn-key service, IBC has expanded its production capacity from five to eight blending vats and installed two additional bulk intake tanks, increasing total bulk capacity by 168,000 litres.

The site is equipped to bottle whiskey, vodka, rum, gin and Tequila, providing blending, chill filtration and full contract bottling services.

IBC’s ability to support smaller production runs of 300 bottles has proved particularly attractive to bespoke single cask customers. The service allows them to test brands in market before moving to the main production bottling line when demand increases.

Ewen Pettit, managing director of Australian drinks company Superdrop, said: “IBC offered a rare combination of technical capability and commercial flexibility. From the outset, it was clear that IBC understood both the operational realities of production and the commercial pressures faced by brand owners.

“What has stood out most is their responsiveness and problem-solving mindset – the team is proactive, transparent and solutions-focused, whether navigating production planning, adapting to  changing requirements, or maintaining quality and consistency at scale.”

Looking ahead, IBC forecasts production to exceed two million bottles in 2026, with plans to double output year-on-year as demand for flexible contract bottling continues to grow.

David Balfour, chief operations officer of Gortinore Irish Whiskey, added: “Moving Natterjack Irish Whiskey production to IBC has streamlined our bottling process while adding value through the use of a modern, high-spec facility.”
