GHF acquires Fielden Whisky

Brand development agency GHF has acquired English whisky brand Fielden for an undisclosed sum, with plans to relaunch it in early 2026.

Fielden Whisky joins GHF’s portfolio with a new brand identity expected early this year

Fielden launched in May 2024 and followed a rebrand and relocation of what was formerly known as The Oxford Artisan Distillery, which became Fielden Whisky of England.

Fielden is described as a modern English whisky, rooted in the fields and distilled from regeneratively farmed, diverse grains.

Tristram Coates, founder and CEO of GHF, commented on the acquisition: “We have long admired the Fielden brand and have followed its development closely, believing it to be something truly special. A genuine challenger, doing whisky differently.

“Fielden has strong credibility with bartenders, retailers and whisky enthusiasts through its distinctive flavour and modern English identity, and it has the potential to define its category and achieve iconic status.

“Fielden is a perfect addition to the GHF portfolio, and we are incredibly excited to be building this brand alongside fellow like-minded and mission-led British spirit producers such as Sapling, Everleaf and Nc’nean.

“Under GHF’s stewardship, the brand will benefit from deep trade relationships, best-in-class brand building capability, and a long-term commitment to growing English whisky with integrity, ambition and cultural relevance.”

The English whisky category has experienced significant growth over the past decade. According to the English Whisky Guild, annual production is now estimated to exceed 500,000 bottles.

English whisky is gaining international recognition for its quality, innovation and sustainability, with the category’s GI in the final stages of approval.

Founded in 2020, London-based GHF is a premium drinks brand development agency that specialises in building and scaling high-quality, innovative drinks brands.

The agency collaborates with founders and investors to provide comprehensive commercial execution across brand strategy, market entry, trade marketing, and sales, with a key focus on creating long-term value and ensuring cultural relevance.
