Cannabis brand Upstate Elevator moves into non-alc ‘spirits’
By Lauren BowesUpstate Elevator, which produces cannabinoid beverages, has created its first alcohol-free THC ‘spirit’ for Dry January.

Named Añejo Lime THC Spirit, the expression provides 10mg of THC per 43ml serving, along with 38mg of L-theanine to create ‘relaxed, easygoing vibes’.
The liquid offers notes of ‘smoky oak, bright citrus, and a playful flicker of jalapeño heat’.
The brand recommends serving Añejo Lime THC Spirit over ice, as a shot, or in a mocktail.
The ‘spirit’ joins Upstate Elevator’s portfolio of THC and CBD gummies, capsules and tinctures. It also offers a range of THC sodas, including Orange Pop, Zesty Lime Ginger Ale, and Yuzu Lemonade Spritz.
“Consumers want alcohol-free options that still feel elevated, intentional, and fun, and this ‘spirit’ checks every box,” said Dylan Raap, Upstate Elevator’s founder and CEO. “Our Añejo Lime THC Spirit is crafted for all the moments you’d typically pour a cocktail, just without the next-day drag. This launch represents an exciting new chapter for zero-proof drinking.”
The Añejo Lime THC Spirit retails for US$49.99 for a 750ml bottle. It is currently available from the brand’s website and will soon roll out to select retailers in Texas, New Jersey and Tennessee.
In 2025, American wellness brand 1906 created a neutral cannabis ‘spirit’ designed for a ‘hangover-free’ experience.
A recent report published by the Functional Drinks Collective found that 28% of consumers said they view functional drinks as a ‘legitimate’ alternative to alcohol in the on-trade.
